Cromo Química, a company of the Crop Care holding, opens a factory in Estrela, Rio Grande do Sul

The new plant has about 1,600 m² and two laboratories dedicated to research and development of new high-performance adjuvants and enhancers.

Cromo Química, a company controlled by the holding company Crop Care, has just opened a new factory for high-performance adjuvants and enhancers in Estrela, in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul. The plant has around 1,600 m² and with this new space, the company’s production capacity is expected to expand by more than 200%, to over 5 million liters a year.

“We integrated Cromo Química into Crop Care in January 2023, and since then we have seen significant progress in manufacturing expansion. We have big plans for the area of high-performance adjuvants and enhancers, especially against a backdrop of instability in input prices and a great demand for more sustainable and competitive agriculture,” explains Marcelo Pessanha, CEO of Crop Care.

For this expansion, Cromo Química has hired more than 20 employees to join the new manufacturing center. “As well as a robust complex, we’ll have two Research and Development laboratories, one of which is dedicated solely to adjuvants and the other to enhancers,” says Josir Neuls, founder of Cromo Química.

Crop Care’s Expansion Plan

Crop Care is carrying out a solid expansion plan that encompasses all of the holding’s companies, especially Agrobiológica Sustentabilidade and Cromo Química. “At Agrobiológica, we will invest more than BRL 100 million in expanding and modernizing the company by 2025. With this expansion, the goal is to more than double our production capacity, with a modern and technological manufacturing complex that should be able to launch 20 new products for the next production cycles,” says Pessanha.

Founded in 2018 by Josir Neuls and Fábio Queiroz and integrated into Crop Care earlier this year, Cromo Química specializes in the production of high-performance adjuvants and enhancers for agriculture, with a focus on soybean, corn, cotton and winter crops. The company operates mainly in the South and Midwest regions of Brazil. “The business plan for Cromo Química includes a series of innovations in the company’s portfolio and expansions in production capacity. Our goal is to increase the number of offers for Brazilian farmers, providing sustainable and efficient products,” concludes Crop Care’s CEO.
