Crop Care announces association with Cromo Química
The conclusion of the deal will strengthen the company’s performance in the market of high performance adjuvants and agricultural enhancers
Crop Care, which operates in the market of special inputs for agribusiness, continues its expansion strategy. The company has just announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Cromo Química, a company based in Estrela, Rio Grande do Sul, subject to regulatory approvals and other conditions precedent for closing the transaction.
Founded in 2018 by Josir Neuls and Fábio Queiroz, Cromo Química specializes in the production of high-performance adjuvants and enhancers for agriculture, with a focus on soybean, corn, cotton and winter crops. Currently, the company operates mainly in the South and Midwest regions of Brazil.
“We are very happy with the arrival of Chromo Química. This association strengthens our participation in the market for high-performance adjuvants and potentiators. The priority will continue to be to grow with our current distributors and cooperatives and to expand our access to farmers in the North and Northeast regions,” explains Marcelo Pessanha, Crop Care’s CEO.
“On behalf of Cromo Química, I can say that the association with a major player in the market was very well received. With this alliance, we have a clear vision of our expansion plan for the coming years, aiming at new product launches, governance structuring, and market access. I am sure that the combination will make Cromo Química even more professional and innovative”, says Josir Neuls, Cromo Química’s CEO.
The transaction is aligned with Crop Care’s strategy to expand the offer of sustainable solutions, which already has a line of biological pesticides, post-patent agrochemicals and special fertilizers.
“Currently, we have more than 40 products in our portfolio. We believe that our high performance adjuvants promote a better use of agrochemicals and biologicals sprayed on crops, generating greater profitability and productivity for the farmer. In addition, all our products are sustainable, mitigating risks to the environment,” Neuls explains.
One of Crop Care’s priorities for the coming years is to expand its production and sales capacity. “We expect to invest in strengthening the sales force of Cromo Química, in addition to other support sectors, and, above all, in Research and Development. The future of agriculture lies in safe technologies that value the environmental agenda and respect the legislation, without leaving aside the profitability of the producer,” concludes the CEO of Crop Care.
In fiscal year 21/22, the Crop Care subsidiaries together had sales of about R$438.6 million. Agrobiológica Sustentabilidade alone has reached a total of more than 11 million hectares treated with its products in Brazil. Crop Care is part of the Lavoro Group, whose controlling shareholders are funds managed by Patria Investimentos.
